WESTON Hospicecare is offering a full English breakfast to supporters as part of an annual fundraising event.

The Big Breakfast takes place this Saturday, October 31, at Congresbury Recreation Club, off Brinsea Road, where there will be a choice of fry-ups, homemade jams, chutneys and cakes on sale, and a chance to do some early Christmas shopping with calendars and Christmas cards also on sale.

The event, organised by Congresbury Supporters Group which works tirelessly to raise money for the hospice, has been running for the past eight years.

It is hoped more than £2,000 will be raise this year to go towards the £160,000 needed to deal with an extra demand in the charity's services.

Fundraiser Sue Sweet said: "This is a great fun event that raises a great deal of money for the hospice. The supporters group in Congresbury does a fantastic job every year of cooking up a big breakfast for people to enjoy and I expect this year will be just tasty."

Breakfast is available from 9.30am-noon.
