1) Weston-super-Mare Grand Pier is hosting its Party on the Pier DJ Special this Friday night. The seaside venue welcomes a selection of club DJs including Matt Nelmes (Lost Boys), The Real! Yogi Bear (DJ/Producer) and DJ Party Potter. Tickets cost £5.50 and include unlimited rides, and it runs from 6pm to 10pm.

2) West Somerset Railway opens its 2012 season on Saturday, with four steam trains on the line between the Minehead and Bishops Lydeard stations. Tickets are now available for pre-booking at 2011 prices.

3) The Brewhouse Theatre and Arts Centre at Taunton has a night of comedy with Bethany Black on Friday evening as part of the weekend's Outset Festival. The Guardian described her adults-only act as 'dark-tinged but magical'. Tickets cost £12, or £10 for concessions, and it starts at 9.30pm.

4) The Octagon Theatre in Yeovil welcomes back Fascinating Aida - Cheap Flights Tour for another performance on Sunday evening. Following their sell-out performance at the Octagon Theatre in October 2011, the comedy cabaret trio have become a YouTube sensation. Full price tickets cost £17, concessions cost £15, and there are £14 tickets available for footlights or groups of ten or more.

5) The Winter Gardens at Weston-super-Mare has an evening of professional wrestling action on Saturday night. The stars of CSF Superstar Wrestling will entertain grapple fans with a card of high-flying and entertaining bouts. Tickets ordered in advance cost £10 for adults, £8 for concessions and £32 for a family ticket of two adults and two children. Tickets will also be available on the door.
