Emphatic win sends Friary into quarters
Witham eased into the last eight of the Somerset Sunday Challenge Cup with a resounding victory over their visitors from Bath.
Simon Millard got Witham's opener after running through the Odd Down defence to score and this was to be a recurring theme for Millard and the visiting defence.
Witham's and Millard's second goal came from a Luke Stanley through-ball and once again the striker left the defence in his wake before tucking the ball under the advancing keeper.
For his hat-trick, Millard picked up a loose ball on the halfway line and ran through unchallenged to score.
Lathem was next to add to Odd Down's woes with Millard turning provider for his strike partner.
Witham's fifth of the morning came from Millard, who again beat three defenders before finishing.
Clinton Hartley added the sixth, firing in from close range, before Odd Down got on the scoresheet with a deflected effort on the stroke of half-time.
If Odd Down thought Witham would take their foot off the gas in the second half, they were sadly mistaken.
Millard was straight back on the goal trail with his fifth and Witham's eighth came from Gareth Wright, who was on hand to stab home Luke Stanley's cross.
Man of the match Millard added his sixth and final goal of an excellent performance before further goals from Lathem and Hartley rounded off the match.
