What's your vision for Wells High Street?
The future of Britain's High Streets have been in the news a lot lately and this week you will have the chance to have your say on what can be done to save them.
Wells Civic Society conducted a survey of Wells traders last year.
It showed that 60 per cent thought that events such as Night on the Town and the Swans of Wells have a positive impact on the city and 70 per cent would welcome more such events.
However, 70 per cent also considered that Wells city centre has been affected by the economic downturn.
There is national concern about the future of town centres and the 'Alternative Review Into The Future Of The High Street' was launched recently at the House Of Commons.
Luis Gordon, who has extensive experience in retail, will discuss this and many other aspects of the retail economy at an event hosted by the Civic Society at 7.30pm on October 9 in Wells Town Hall.
The Society welcomes non-members to join the discussion which will follow this presentation, with a panel of representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, the local authority and other key players in the city’s retail economy.
WCS members no charge; non-members £2.
