A lively evening to celebrate Valentine's Day is promised at Compton Dundon Village Hall with music by the six-piece rock covers band Nevertheless, on Saturday, February 13.

Formed by Derek Stacey, this local band consists of Roy Corbett on vocals, Penny Dunscombe on vocals and keyboard, Jon Sackett on bass guitar, Theo Sackett and Derek Stacey on guitar, Steve Baker on drums, and sound engineer Greg Jones.

The band has been together for two years and loves to play classic rock and ballad songs from as far back as the 1950s with Elvis, through the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s right through to today – anything that people want to dance to.

They also play a number of songs that they have written themselves.

Doors open at 7.30pm and hot food and a well-stocked bar will be available.

Tickets from Derek Stacey on 01458 273376; Bridget on 01458 273002; or from the Post Office at Compton Village Hall, opening hours 9am to noon, from Monday to Friday.

Proceeds will go to the village hall.
