Third place for Frome Running Club's Mark Aston in Wye Valley
Frome Running Club's Mark Aston finished third MV60 at the Wye Valley Trail Half Marathon.
He completed the race, which featured forests and steep inclines, in 2hrs 35mins 43secs.
Frome runners turned out in force for the Melksham 10k, part of the Wiltshire Road Race League.
A heavy downpour 15 minutes into the race did not deter the runners, with several producing impressive performances. Pete Grist led the club home in 33:56, ahead of Gary Eagle in 37:39 to claim victory in the MV50 competition.
Robin-Mark Schols was second in the MV50 standings in a PB of 38:43, while Ted Sprules (MV60) finished in 42:54 and Richard Riley (MV50) came home in 49:13.
Husband and wife Dave and Sarah Perrett crossed the line within a second of each other, recording new PBs of 55:47 and 55:48.
Angela Smith (FV50) completed the Frome compliment with a time of 59:44.
The results maintained Frome's position in second in Division 2, with hopes for promotion looking good.
Chris Stringer and Helen Corbett took on the Gritstone Grind, a 35-mile ultra marathon event which follows the Gritstone Trail in the Peak District, starting at Kidsgrove and finishing at Disley near Stockport.
The trail is regarded as a three-day walk but entrants are given just 12 hours to complete the race and the Frome duo came home comfortably within the target in 9hrs 8mins.
At the Southwick Parkrun, Ian Holmes (MV45) led Frome home in 21:07, ahead of Graham Farley (MV45) in a new PB for the course of 24:53.
Kevin Duffy (MV50) finished in 26:22, Fiona Norris (FV50) came home in 27:39 and Sheila Harrison (FV60) completed the Frome line-up in 31:47.
