One person was cut free from the wreckage of a crash in Ilchester yesterday.

Police, ambulance and fire crews all attended the scene of the collision, which involved two vehicles, on the A372 at Red Post Cross at around 5.45pm.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said one person was trapped in one of the vehicles, so firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove its doors and roof.

The casualty was then removed from the vehicle and treated by the ambulance crew.
