He works in North Somerset for the Shaw Trust, a charity which helps people with disabilities into employment and is a member of the Bevan Foundation, Paul Robeson (Wales) Trust, Institute for Public Policy Research and the Fabian Society and has a passion for social justice.
Mr Parry-Hearn, pictured, also worked with the South Wales Police Force to tackle anti-social behaviour in his community and was a founder member and chairman of the Margam Community Forum, West Glamorgan.

Mr Parry-Hearn's first confirmed political engagement in the constituency is a question and answer session at the Trinity Centre, Nailsea at 3pm, on February 7.

“Sad that the Labour Party has offered us a token candidate that has little connection with the area. I guess he's waiting his turn for a safe Labour seat back home in Wales.”

“Until very recently the Lib Dem candidate did not live in the constituency either, would be interesting to know whether his recent appearance on the electoral roll is a permanent move or not, as his wife does not appear on the roll!
So clearly neither of them would be interested in the area - just a seat in Parliament!”

“It is a shame that the Labour Party has seen fit to offer a candidate that has only a partial connection to the area that he wishes to serve in Parliament.
It is time that the parties realised that MP's are primarily elected to represent their constitancy not the parties interests. This is why we vote on the ballot paper for a named person. We are not asked to name a party.
I would expect whoever is elected to try and represent my interests, whether or not I care to support the party that he has chosen to join.
I cannot see that this criterion can be fully met by a candidate who has and does not live, work, and socialise in my area.
This is just another example of the seperation of MP's from the community that has let to the expences scandel and their low public standing.
If we are paying you we expect you to work for us.
Or is the North Somerset Labour Party saying that there is no local person that could represent us? If that is the case then you could try me, but I promise you that if there is a clash then my community and country's interests will take prioty over party whip demands.
And that is how it should be.”
