David Kelly anchored Box's innings with a defiant 80 runs as his team weathered some accurate bowling from Allen White, who claimed four wickets.

Norton St Philip eventually bowled Box out for 165 after 43 overs, David Kelly top scoring with 80.

In reply, the Pitchforkers dug in with Mark Finch (72no) and Allen White (42no) ensuring a comfortable eight-wicket victory.

Norton St Philip Cricket Club host their annual Presidents XI v Norton St Philip match and Family Day on July 12, starting at 2pm.

The teams play for "The Ashes", the trophy containing the ashes of the club's old pavilion, which burned down.

Newly-qualified coach Lee Hodgson has started up training sessions twice a week for children aged four and over and The Lords Taverners have donated a kit for the U11s.

The local representative, Geoff Banwell, will be in attendance to present the kit at around 4.30pm.
