Schoolgirl's two-year wait for X Factor gets happy ending

A Cheddar schoolgirl rubbed shoulders with the stars during a recent show of the X Factor.

Kings of Wessex School pupil Chloe Heyworth, 16, got the X Factor last weekend when she finally got tickets for the live show after being on a waiting list for two years.

Chloe, along with her sister Lucy, 22, and mum Sarah, travelled to the Fountain Studios in Wembley, where they then had to wait in a queue for three-and-a-half hours.

Even though everyone in the queue had tickets, only the first 500 were allowed in, a system put in place to ensure a full studio audience.

As they were waiting, Chloe, who lives in Brent Knoll, spoke to Holly Willoughby, who arrived on a motorbike, and saw judges Simon Cowell, Danii Minogue, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh arrive.

Once in the studio, Chloe and her family were ushered down to the front where they sat just behind the judges, and next to pop star and mentor Sinitta, choreographer Brian Friedman and voice coach Yvie Burnett.

The show started immediately with a very frail and nervous Susan Boyle being physically helped onto the stage to do a pre-recording for her slot on the Sunday show.

After that, Dermot O'Leary started the main show.

Speaking of her experience, Chloe said: "It all seemed so surreal. We had to queue for so long in the rain, but it was great when Holly came over to talk to us and sign autographs.

"When we got in we went straight to the front so we were really close to the judges. Everyone looked exactly like they do on TV but they were a lot shorter than they appear, and Cheryl and Danii are tiny."

Chloe added: "Stacey and Joe were really good, and I was converted by John and Edward because they were so entertaining. They all sound so much better live. It was definitely an experience worth waiting for."

The family rounded off the trip with a visit to Harrods on Sunday.
