Remember loved ones with a light
The ceremony was conducted by the Rev Colin Horn, of Leigh on Mendip, and the Frome Town Youth Band played music for the carol singing.
After the dedication there was mince pies and mulled wine.
Now in its fourth year the tree enables people to remember a loved one for a cause by sponsoring a one or more lights in their memory and at the same time support needy causes in the area. All the money raised in sponsorship will be donated to charity.
A spokesman for the club said: "The Lions Club would like to take this opportunity to thank Nugent, Vallis and Brierley (NVB) Architects, for providing the site and meeting the cost of the electricity, Longleat Forestry for donating the tree and Compugraphic for the signs.
Anyone wishing to sponsor a light should complete a form, which is printed in the Somerset Standard.
The minimum donation is £5. For more information call Derek Storer on 01373 452350 or email derek.storer@fromelions.org.uk.
