How to make snowman decoration
Shepton Mallet Active Living Group
We met on Friday, November 2, when Lyn Manvill showed us how to make a variety of small Christmas crafts.
We started by making a snowman napkin decoration. This involved cutting out pieces of felt which then required some stitching, followed by the application of some glue and Velcro.
This was a very simple decoration to make but very effective when completed. Lyn then introduced us to the art of making "Suffolk puffs". Some members were already familiar with these while others soon acquired the necessary skill needed. We were given the choice of whether to make brooches or to be more adventurous and attempt to make a small Christmas tree.

The whole day was taken up with choosing different fabrics, cutting out, stitching, chatting and enjoying making items to take home with us. Some people even worked through the lunch hour eager to finish what they had started earlier. Many thanks to Lyn for an enjoyable and constructive day.
There will be no session in December as we will be going out for Christmas lunch on our usual meeting day.
