We let Pakistan off the hook, says Somerset's Peter Trego
Acting Somerset captain Peter Trego looked back on his side's eight-run defeat to Pakistan and insisted: "We should have won."
The hosts were 256-9 after 50 overs, chasing 265 to win at Taunton in the warm-up for the tourists' one-day matches against England.

Somerset failed to back up Zander de Bruyn's 122 not out as they fell just short of another memorable win over an international side.
Trego said: "We approached the game really well and we did well as a bowling side and just fell short with the bat. It was disappointing because, with 20 overs to go, we probably should have won."
De Bruyn felt the game had been decided by the power-plays.
"It was a shame we couldn't do it, but we competed hard until the end against an international side," he said.
"They have good bowlers and in the power-play we didn't get enough runs, and that is why we struggled at the end."
Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq was injured in the warm-up between innings and Trego – skipper in place of Marcus Trescothick – refused to allow 12th man Wahab Riaz to bowl.
"It was a professional game of cricket and it started as that and a List A game, and I didn't want to change that because we had a debutant (Lewis Gregory) who had taken 4-49. I didn't want that to be taken away from him and for him to not have the figures on his record," said Trego.
De Bruyn said of Gregory: "He is a good, young cricketer and I am sure he has a good future ahead of him. To start your first game like that gives you confidence to go on to bigger and better things."
Trego believes the game has set Somerset up well for tomorrow's final Clydesdale Bank 40 game against Glamorgan at Taunton.
After they lost to Worcestershire on Monday, Somerset need to win to seal a home semi-final next Saturday.
Trego said: "This was a great experience for a lot of us – we played against an international side and we did well. It has played a couple of our guys into form and it has been a fantastic day all round.
"We know that every now and then these slip-ups can happen. We are certainly focused on doing the job on Saturday and getting that home semi-final."
Trego is targeting a winter call-up by England at full senior or Lions level, and he was Somerset's most economical bowler. He added: "I have trained myself to be quite calm in one-day cricket.
"Trying to bowl at five an over at Taunton is a good target and I was less than that. Lewis came in and did a fantastic job, Mark Turner got three wickets and bowled superbly and we had Zeddy's hundred and Nick Compton's fifty."
