Well known Frome firm mixes with royalty
STAFF from a long-standing firm near Frome had the chance to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen's coronation.
Representatives from the gates and fencing company AJ Charlton and Sons were invited to the Coronation Festival, staged in the grounds of Buckingham Palace. The event was attended by the Queen, Prince Charles and other members of the royal family and among the guests was AJ Charlton, the firm's chairman and Matt Charlton, the sales and marketing manager for gates ansd fencing.
Charltons has been part of the Radstock community for more than 100 years and still has its saw mills at Buckland Down just outside Radstock.
The guests had the opportunity to meet and talk to members of the royal family and enjoy an evening gala with performances from the likes of Katherine Jenkins and Katie Melua.
The unique event was hosted by the Royal Warrant Holders Association, of which Charltons has been a member since it was granted the royal warrant in 2,000, having supplied gates and fencing to the royal households for a number of years.
Mr Charlton said: "It is a huge honour to have been invited. We remain extremely proud to be royal warrant holders, recognising the royal warrant as a treasured and respected mark of excellence and quality."
