Two killed in horror smash on A371 Axbridge bypass
Two people died and a third critically injured in a crash between two cars near Cheddar in the early hours today.
The drivers of a BMW and a Peugeot, which were in collision on the A371 Axbridge bypass at 3am, were killed.

A passenger in the BMW was taken to the Bristol Royal Infirmary Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He was later transferred to Frenchay Hospital where police say he is in a critical condition.

The A371 was closed while accident investigators examined the scene.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary is appealing for witnesses, in particular anyone who was on the road around the time or who saw a red BMW on the A38 between Brent Island and Cross shortly before the smash.
They are asked to contact the police collision investigation unit at Yeovil on 101.
