Fire investigators hope to enter blaze-hit Yeovil pub The Bell
Fire investigators hope to enter a Yeovil pub which was ravaged by a huge blaze for the first time this week.
The Bell, a Hungry Horse-branded premises on Preston Road, went up in flames in an early-morning inferno on Sunday, January 6.
The cause remains unknown as firefighters and proprietors Greene King investigate the blaze. Nobody was inside the pub at the time.
The unstable building was deemed unsafe to enter until this week, a spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire Service said. He added that representatives from the pub’s insurance company were first to enter on Monday.

He added: “Over the next week or so, we hope we may be able to get in to investigate.”
A Hungry Horse spokeswoman said: “We are working as quickly as possible with all the relevant authorities to put plans in motion to rebuild the Bell. However, it may be some time before the cause is known and the pub is reinstated.”
