Why is nothing happening there?
WHY does nothing ever seem to happen at Creative Common next to Temple Meads ?
After hosting No-Fit-State-Circus, back in June, Creative Common has yet to put on any events apart from a Kids' Summer Holiday Circus camp and even that was cut short. Almost a quarter of the way into this year's nine month season and with an apparent aim of attracting an audience of up to 100,000 people overall, why is nothing happening? With the huge amount of public money and political backing this project has received, how is this possibly a good return for the council tax payers of Bristol?
Why are the backers of this high profile project not asking serious questions about a venue that is now apparently practically too expensive to even open up due to the cost of hiring in a generator, toilets and staff – how can this not have been foreseen by organisers and if nothing is happening at the site, where is all of the public money allocated to the project being spent?
I would dearly love Creative Common to be a thriving hub of innovative, awe inspiring events and shows but at the moment it seems to be little more than a very expensive big-top storage facility.
