First half rampage enough to earn win for Yeovil & Sherborne Ladies
YEOVIL and Sherborne Ladies hockey team withstood a gallant Bridgwater fight back to win by the odd goal in nine.
Having conceding first, Yeovil accelerated into a 5-1 lead before the interval thanks to Sadie Watson's hat-trick and fine strikes from Debs Gemmell and Georgie Lanfear.

STRONG RUN: A Yeovil and Sheborne player attempts to elude the despairing dive of a Minehead opponent as another visitor looks on. The Gryphon School, Sherborne, hosts won 2-0 with Alex MacKay and George Wayman scoring. However, three unanswered goals after the break threatened to upset the odds only for Yeovil to hold on and remain top of the West Clubs Women's League Central Division.
Goals from Alex MacKay and George Wayman guided Yeovil men's first team to a 2-0 success against Minehead, while the A team tumbled 4-0 at West Dorset. Yeovil B shrugged off a sloppy start to beat Taunton Civil Service A 6-1. Ben Baker and Jonathan Powe both netted braces, while Mark Cox and Tony Organ grabbed singles. Teign A thumped Yeovil C 8-0 in Devon.
CHARD men's second team triumphed 2-1 over Bridgwater B, with all three goals coming in the first half. Brogan O'Shea Smith and Max Beale scored after Bridgwater had taken the lead.
Sarah McDermott and Lyndsay Blackshaw found the net for Chard ladies as they drew 2-2 with Mid Somerset.
