First-half onslaught sends hosts out of Premier Cup
CLEVEDON UNITED 0 BRIDGWATER TOWN 4
CLEVEDON United went out of the Somerset Premier Cup as they were beaten 4-0 by a well-drilled Bridgwater Town.
After six minutes, Nat Pepperell seized on a chance after United were unable to clear a corner and scored at the back post.
The lead was extended after 20 minutes when, following a slick passing move, Steve Orchard made it 2-0.
It became 3-0 after 30 minutes when Chris Young struck from close range and Orchard scored his second on 35 minutes after a long ball sent him clear and he curled his shot past the diving Ben Dancey.
United improved after the break and both sides had chances to score, with Adam Grinter, Greg Andrews and Sam Clark going close for Clevedon.
Dancey was dominant in the United goal, keeping the Bridgwater attackers at bay to earn the Gordano Carpets man of the match award.

MISTERTON 4
Misterton won 5-3 on pens
CLEVEDON United were the unlucky losers of this Somerset Cup tie after battling out a 4-4 draw in extra time before heading out on penalties.
Clevedon went one up after Ben Pavey's persistence saw him break through two tackles in the box before slotting past the keeper.
Misterton equalised against the run of play and within minutes they took the lead.
United pulled a goal back after a great cross from Paul Williams found the head of Max James, who headed across the keeper into the top corner.
The wind played its part for the visitors when they shot straight from the kick-off and scored.
With five minutes remaining, United had the ball in the back of the net but the effort was ruled offside. However, Clevedon's pressure mounted and Misterton conceded a late penalty when Mike Banks was brought down and Pavey dispatched the spot-kick.
Extra time ensued and Nathan Price gave United the lead, converting Ben Burns' corner with a fine header, before tired legs allowed Misterton to grab a sloppy equaliser to take the game to penalties.
United missed the target with one and had another saved as they bowed out.
CLEVEDON UTD B 3 BANWELL RES 1
IN a wind and rain-affected match, United came out with a hard-fought victory against a robust Banwell outfit.
Clevedon started brightly, winning a penalty after five minutes when Nick Austin was upended, but Ben Teall fired wide.
Ten minutes in, United were awarded a second penalty for handball, which Eugene Dunn coolly placed in the corner of the net.
Clevedon were now dominant, with Jake, Dunn and Ben Shipway going close before Dunn scored direct from a corner kick.
Just before half-time, Teall scored from 30 yards with a shot that deceived the keeper and Banwell pulled a goal back almost immediately.
The second half saw Banwell come into the game more but Graig Manson, Nick Baker, Sam Shipway and Dunn stood firm, while Steve Mann pulled off some fine saves.
