TWO first half goals were enough to earn Pen Mill Ladies their second win of the season as they triumphed 2-0 over Street.

Striker Becca Roberts took just four minutes to break the deadlock in the Somerset County Women's League Division One match, powering home captain Ruth Parsons' cross from Dee Cracknell's short corner.

Scorer turned provider on 22 minutes when she held up possession in the middle of the Johnson Park pitch, dissecting the Street defence to pick out Emma Davis.

Mill's leading scorer cut inside her marker, firing a shot low and hard beyond the visiting keeper.

The second period proved goal-less as both sides battled with an increasingly heavy surface. Mill's influential duo Amy Jones and Natasha Banks had to be substituted but personnel changes failed to impact on the hosts' control of the game. Keeper Amanda Johnson earned manager Stuart Banks' praise for her display.

ILMINSTER Town lost 1-0 to Cutters Friday in the Somerset County League Premier Division. Castle Cary were beaten 6-1 by Broad Plain House in the Somerset Senior Cup. Combe St Nicholas defeated Worle 2-1 in Division Two West.
