Yeovil Town must show a greater hunger to claim three points against Notts County, according to manager Terry Skiverton.
The Glovers enter the npower League One match with just one win to their name this season, despite impressing in almost all of their six outings.
On Tuesday night they exited the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at the first round, losing 3-1 to Exeter City and seeing striker Sam Williams sent off for a first half head butt.
Skiverton’s men fought back to equalise with ten men, only for the Grecians to take a minute to re-establish their lead.
The boss said: “We are in this profession to win games and I think we need to be a little bit more professional in winning games.
“I think we need to show that little bit more hunger in making sure we get the three points, rather than being a team that tries to play the right way early on in games without scoring.
“We watched the Exeter game on Wednesday and it does not look as bad as when you are there. We know we need to improve on a couple of areas, we have worked on that and the guys are all fully-focussed going into the weekend now.”
With Williams now suspended for the next three games, Skiverton is without a target man to lead the line against County, Tranmere Rovers and Huddersfield Town.
However, Skiverton said he would have no hesitations in playing forward Dean Bowditch as a lone striker.
“We might have to change a couple of things,” said Skiverton. “I think Sam has been getting a little bit frustrate.
“You can see he has been snatching at chances and maybe now this is a chance to freshen things up and play a different way.
“When Sam is up there we have a tendency to hit him a little bit earlier maybe than when we have one or two smaller ones up there.
“I thought Dean Bowditch led the line well on his own and it might be something we look at doing again.”
Yeovil Town from: Sullivan, Jones, Alcock, Stam, Smith, Huntington, A. Williams, Ayling, Bowditch, Welsh, Hutchins, Kiernan, Stewart, Upson, Calver, Freeman, Virgo, Tudur Jones, Kalala, Roberts, Gibson, Matthews, Baggridge.
