Get your glam rags on
Looe Music festival tomorrow
The flavour of the final day of this fiesta that has taken over the beach and streets of the Cornish fishing port of Looe for the weekend is defined by its headliners – posturing British glam rock gods The Darkness. This is the last of just a handful of lower-key festival invitations the Norfolk four-piece accepted this summer as they write and record their next album. Last year's LP Hot Cakes harked back to the revived band's glory days of high-energy, risque affability and solid melodic force. It's time to launch your best falsetto and sing along with tracks like I Believe in a Thing Called Love, Get Your Hands off My Woman and Love is Only a Feeling which helped grab them three Brit Awards back in 2004.
Warming the beach stage for them will be two bands with 1970s pedigrees – The Damned and Sham 69 – while Chas and Dave turn on the Rockney charm in the harbour marquee. Day tickets are still available and the fancy dress theme is "glam rock pirates". What else could it be?
