Five-game success on the rugby field
PUPILS at Crispin School in Street put their rugby skills to the test before the half-term holiday when they took to the field for the Keynsham Rugby Festival.
Students Ewan Richards, Luke Roberts, Thomas Stephens and Corey Board were part of a team which took the event by storm.
The side won all five matches and conceded only one try.
School spokeswoman Judith Highet said: "The boys started strongly with fantastic wins over Dings, Chew Valley, Lydney & Chippenham and a draw against Matson which saw them through to the final against arch rivals Clifton, who they had played a few months earlier.
"With the last match looming, the boys knew that with their strength and determination they could succeed – and they did by one try – it was a nail-biting match for everyone especially the parent spectators, but after a soggy end to the day the team stood triumphant."
The week before the boys had won the Midsomer Norton Festival for the fourth consecutive year in a row.
