Acoustic music fans will be pleased to hear that Reg Meuross is playing at East Woodlands Village Hall on Saturday, 16th March.
Reg combines beautiful melodies with a strong talent for storytelling and weaves his talent throughout his music with polished style and grace. He is a popular entertainer regularly playing folk clubs and venues throughout the UK. When Reg appeared at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Mike Harding (BBC Radio) introduced him as "one of the finest singer songwriters this country has produced".
In 2012 Reg was invited to Abbey Road Studios to record this new collection of songs which reflects the intimacy and nuance of his live performances. Leaves & Feathers captures portraits of individuals, glimpses of lives: love, euphoria, tragedy..... Reg's imaginative and finely crafted songs have earned him the title of "Master Storyteller" - Pennyblack Music.
Reg wowed the audience when he played at East Woodlands two years ago and his launch gig for Leaves & Feathers, on 28th February, at the English Folk Dance and Song Society's own venue, Cecil Sharp House in London, was sold out before Christmas. The Hall Management Committee are delighted and honoured that he is returning to Woodlands on 16th March.
The cabaret style performance, in this unique venue, commences at 7.30pm. The hall, which was formerly the village school, is situated on the edge of the Longleat Estate (postcode BA11 5LQ). Tickets are £12.50 and include a two course dinner. (A vegetarian alternative will be available but must be pre-booked).
Telephone 01373 466136 for tickets and further information.
