“Good to hear that the changes have been so well received that the Abbey Ruins is benefiting with more season ticket holders. I used to go to the Abbey Ruins a lot when my children were smaller and can imagine wanting a season ticket when I have grand children. Now it is somewhere my children would visit in an educational context or I would take guests so we pay full entry price; livestyles and needs change but I think the Abbey is well run and the staff they have in place funded by the entry costs must be in response to acutal consumer demand and as part of promoting the Abbey Ruins to prospective ticket purchasers.”

“I'm quite happy to pay the £24.00 annual admision charge for the Abbey (and have bought a season ticket for years). It currently works out at around £2.00 a month and as I don't have a garden it's a great place to relax on a Sunday afternoon; good for a jog or a stroll; someone is there to keep the place tidy and mow the lawns (though admittedly the Abbey itself could do with a lick of paint as it's falling down!!); and it's a tranquil place in which to relax right in the centre of Glastonbury. I agree too that the new system of a rolling membership makes even more value for money, and having spoken to one of the guys in the ticket office it seems that it is also working from the Abbey's perspective as season ticket holder numbers are on the up this year!”

“Somebody would have to pay for the locals to have access to the Abbey Ruins without paying an admission charge.
If you are complaining about the admission charge now then surely if that cost had to be carried by the visitors who do not live locally then the cost to outside visitors would be prohibitive and the downward spiral that ensued would result in the admission tickets being so costly that locals would have to pay or the Abbey Ruins would have to close.”

“Well don't be too hasty...wait a few more days and buy one on the 1st June in order to benefit from a full 13 months' access!”

“"A season ticket bought during any calendar month is valid until the end of the same calendar month a year later." Whoopee!! I've been waiting for that to happen for *years*. I gave up on trying to buy a season ticket many many moons ago, because of the total stupidity of the _old_ system. Now maybe I'll try again.”
