The duo are one of the most prolific comedy double acts of recent Hollywood history having previously appeared together in Starsky and Hutch, Zoolander, Meet the Parents and the Royal Tenenbaums to name but a few movies.
In this sequel, rated PG, Larry Daley (Stiller) must save his formerly inanimate friends from what could be their last stand amid the wonders of the Smithsonian Museum, all of which - from the famous paintings on the walls to the rocket ships in the halls - suddenly have minds of their own.
In a rip-roaring march through history Larry and the cowboy Jedidiah (Wilson), Abe Lincoln, Albert Einstein and Amelia Earhart are up against the Egyptian ruler Kahmunrah and his henchmen Ivan the Terrible, Napolean and Al Capone.
The movie also stars Robin Williams, Steve Coogan and Ricky Gervais.
It has a seven day run at the Curzon starting on Friday night.
