Children can boogie in new music and movement classes
Boogie Beat Music and Movement, which is based in Cheddar, says it helps children to develop confidence, coordination and social skills while they learn to express themselves in a warm and relaxed environment.
The new group in Clevedon is the brainchild of founders Nicky Attwood and Lisa Langford, lifelong friends and colleagues who have been successfully running classes for many years, with regular weekly sessions, school workshops and birthday parties.
Nicky said: "Franchising is the best way for us to bring the fun and experience of Boogie Beat to more children.
"Each child is encouraged to play percussion instruments and to dance to a varied range of our own music from classical to modern.
"Even parents and carers join in with the fun."
New franchisees Fran Yandall, of Langford and Rachel Yates, of Yatton, who both have two children, are excited about the new venture.
Fran said: "We were looking for an opportunity for part-time working with children and when we found Boogie Beat it was the perfect match.
"We will have music and movement classes in Clevedon, Nailsea, Yatton and Backwell and are really looking forward to welcoming mums, dads, carers and their children because we know it will be a hit.
Boogie Beat classes cover lots of different topics that help children up to school age to develop. The sessions link music, songs and dance with themes like Springtime In The Garden where children learn to appreciate the seasons, growing and nature as they sing and join in.
Classes in Nailsea and Backwell are due to start next Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
The Nailsea classes will take place at 9.40am and 10.40am and in Backwell at the Leisure Centre, the class starts at 9.40am.
Each session costs £3.50.
Sessions in Yatton and Clevedon will start later in the year.
