“Something geeky here, In previous years, communities where television reception was poor but there was no prospect of broadcasters making improvement were licensed to make their own systems called self help. Since the advent of satellite and digital television, many of these have closed due to the cost and complication of applying for a new license and installing new equipment. TV enthusiasts on the internet web site http://tinyurl.com/6u9g3ws are trying to record and catalogue all these systems. We are particularly interested in the Cheddar system which we believe may have closed and been dismantled. Is there anyone in those areas who took photographs that we could use? If you have digital photographs, my email address tv@bodley.demon.co.uk, if you have prints we could perhaps arrange to borrow and scan them and return them to you. Of course if you are really interested you could send them to the mb21 web site yourself, you will find instructions and contact details on there.
