“Apparently about 200 people turned up to the anti-nuclear protest at Hinkley Point today. Can anyone shed any light on how it went and, more importantly, whether it will make any difference?”
“will make no difference. Hinkley point is a suitable site and we need large stations to knit together the grid and be able to stabilise the relatively small renewables capacity being installed and which are intermittent in production.
I understand people don't like wind turbines either - perhaps we need to wind back our lifestyles and return to 19th century economics and lifestyles - but there are too many of use and that wll be difficult for most to accept too - make up your mind what you really want - fast.”
