Fire crews rescue horse from swimming pool near Wedmore
A horse had to be rescued after falling into a swimming pool near Wedmore this morning.
Fire crews from Cheddar and Bridgwater were called out to the pool at Sand shortly before 7.30am after receiving an emergency call from workers who had spotted the animal.

A vet and RSPCA representatives were also involved in the rescue operation.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the horse was standing up in the water, and was not distressed.

Rescuers used a boom carrying the swimming pool's cover to move the horse towards the shallow end of the pool.
A vet was then able to sedate the animal, allowing the rescue team to apply a harness and pull the horse to the safety.
The animal was released unharmed in a nearby field.
