Fire crew rescues man from River Chew at Keynsham
A man was rescued from the River Chew at Keynsham on Sunday night, after becoming trapped waist deep.
Specialist fire crews pulled the man, believed to be in his 20s, to safety in the town’s Memorial Park at 10pm.
Crews from Keynsham and Temple were joined by a specialist boat team from Bedminster, Bristol, to rescue the man, who was slightly hypothermic, from near the Bath Hill bridge.
He was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
