Three car collision near Shepton
FIREFIGHTERS were called to a three car pileup near Shepton Mallet on Saturday morning following reports of an overturned car.
Ambulance Control requested assistance from the fire service at the three car road traffic collision on the A367 in Nettlebridge.
No persons were reported to be still in any of the vehicles so one appliance from Shepton Mallet was mobilised to deal with a fuel spillage.
On arrival the crew informed Control that there were two separate collisions. One vehicle was on its roof and a second vehicle that had stopped was then rear ended by another car.

One person was still inside a vehicle and was being attended to by ambulance personnel. A second appliance was requested in case the roof of the car needed to be removed to get the person out safely. A second pump from Shepton was mobilised.
Eventually the casualty was assisted from the car by the paramedics without the roof having to be removed and fire crews dealt with a small fuel leak using an environmental pack.
