Yesterday's snow disruption saw many county buses cancelled, and others operating on a much reduced level.

The Wells Bus Station to Churchill Road service is still suspended and, although other services for Wells, Frome, Midsomer Norton and Bath are running, there are several roads and areas not being serviced.

Services in North Somerset are operating as normal, but missing out hilly areas around Weston-super-Mare, Portishead, Clevedon and Locking Castle.

Bridgwater and Taunton services are expected to run as normal.

"We're really sorry if any of you have faced travel disruption as a result of snow or ice, we have been working as hard as we can to keep the buses on the roads but the conditions in some places have been, and continue to be, incredibly difficult," said First in a statement last night.

"At the end of the day your safety, and that of our staff and other road users, has to take priority above everything else."
