Washing for lifeboats

BURNHAM RNLI's second fundraising car wash has boosted the amount raised to £1,084.

The volunteer rescue charity washed 106 vehicles for its Soap our Saloons at its headquarters on Saturdays, January 23 and February 6.

The event was supported by Salisbury Automotive Cleaning Products and Alfie Blu's cafe providing cut-price refreshments.

Lifeboat operations manager Ricky Holmes said: "Thanks go to those who supported our volunteer crews.

"We rely on voluntary contributions, so every penny donated helps to run our life-saving service."
