The birds and beasts
A THREE-day animal-themed arts festival takes place at Apex Park in Highbridge from Friday to Sunday, July 16 to 18.
Highbridge & Burnham Artists (HABA) presents the Birds and Beasts Arts Festival.
There will be painting in the park from 10am to 4pm, and a sculpture trail around the lakes on the Friday.
On the Saturday, there will be another sculpture trail, an art and craft exhibition, and workshops, including one on mosaics from 10am to noon, and willow from 2pm to 4pm, with qualified tutors.
There will be chance to help paint a mural, a draw Burnham Day Competition, where you can collect entry forms from 10am and take your drawings to Apex Park by 3pm with prizes at 3.30pm.
There will also be a photographic competition centring on pictures of landscapes and wildlife, a chance to picnic and listen to folk bands from noon to 2pm, and the RNLI, coastguards, BARB and RSPB.
On the Sunday is the final sculpture trail, more art and craft workshops, including painting and mixed media from 10am to noon, then clay modelling and inlaid tiles from 2pm to 4pm.
There is another chance to paint the mural, a photo competition by Burnham Camera Club, another chance to picnic and listen to folk, and the same organisations on display.
The general times are noon to 4.30pm Friday, and 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.
