“ Over the years I've watched plenty of bands at the Cheese and Grain, and although it is quite a cavernous place to fill (it holds over 800 people) the sound and lighting is generally pretty good all around the venue and most importantly there's a good view of the stage too even from near the back (where the bar is located). There is a wide variety of music ranging from the 70s rock icons to modern acts, as well as some tribute bands, and it does seem to attract repeat performances by the likes of Wishbone Ash. Besides music there's various other stuff - I htink even things like wrestling, while during the day there are often fairs and markets, and and another plus for out of towners is that there is ample parking right outside the building. ”

“We need to get everyone voting for this amazing venue, it really is one of Frome's highlights - and under real threat if the Town Council take it over - as described elsewhere. I've been to absolutely brilliant gigs here over the years - some brilliant blasts from my past & some great local bands, including Acoustic Plus and The Operation. The beer is excellent & local. The Farmers Market is one of the best in the West, the Craft Fair is seriously good, and don't forget The Rabbit Show!”

“This historical bar in the heart of town is a major music venue that also hosts a family market. There are farmer markets here on a weekly basis selling the best fresh local produce, and on evenings there are gigs of all genres including punk, rock and funk. The cafe nd bar inside are lovely and a great place to chill out.”
