Three people have been arrested following drugs raids on two houses in Weston-super-Mare yesterday.

Police uncovered a large cannabis factory when they raided a property in Hurst Road, seizing more than 300 plants and a large amount of cash.

Two men, aged 19 and 23, were arrested for cannabis production, criminal damage, abstracting electricity and money laundering.

Sergeant Colin Batchelor said: "The elderly landlord was very distressed to hear what his property was being used for and will have significant costs to incur for the damage the tenants have done to his property.

"We take all drug-related crime very seriously in North Somerset and work continuously to bring offenders to justice."

A second warrant was also carried out at Litton Dunster Crescent, where 13 cannabis plants and hydroponics equipment was found.

A 48-year-old woman was arrested for cannabis production and abstracting electricity.
