Careers South West has been awarded the contract from Somerset County Council to assess, track and inform the county's young people.

The first office will open in Mendip House, High Street, Taunton.

Chief executive Jenny Rudge said: "Careers South West already manages the Next Step service which provides careers advice for adults across the county. By having a single provider delivering services to young people and adults we will be able to ensure that nobody 'gets lost' and is able to access services with ease."

The new contract will ensure that young people in Somerset get help as they move on from school into further learning or work.
