Youngsters get busy for charity

CHILDREN at Portishead nursery held a 2012 Olympic Games and Golden Mile celebration week to raise money for a sporting charity.

To celebrate the Olympics, Busy Bees Nursery in Serbert Road, held a number of sporting activities from January 30 to February 3. The week included the golden mile obstacle course, Busy Bees torch relay, football coaching from Bristol City Football Club and a guest appearance from Olympic Tornado sailor Hugh Styles.

The celebration week was in aid of the Kelly Holmes charity, DKH Legacy Trust, which aims to create life chances for young people, who have the chance to work with and learn from the experience of world class sports stars.

The children at the nursery are donating £6 each and will be walking a total of eight miles around the nursery gardens throughout the year.
