Young Frome jockey to auction signed breeches at Wincanton Racecourse
An aspiring young Frome jockey will auction a pair of signed breeches at Wincanton Racecourse this Saturday to raise funds for charity.
Arron Butterfield, of Ecos Court, had his breeches signed by many of racing's top jockeys, including AP McCoy, Ruby Walsh and Timmy Murphy, and hopes to raise funds for Children In Need and the Injured Jockeys Fund.
The breeches have been framed and the eight-year-old hopes to raise as much money as possible for the two worthy causes.
Arron's father, Alex, said the youngster came up with the idea on a visit to the racecourse in November.

He said: "We decided to take a pair of his breeches to the races to see if we could get them signed.
"By chance, we bumped into former jockey John Francome, who took the breeches into the weighing room.
"When he returned all the jockeys had signed them willingly - Arron was delighted."
Wincanton Racecourse general manager, Steve Parlett, said the racecourse was delighted to help Arron raise funds for the two worthwhile charities.
He said: "When Alex contacted me and told me what Arron had done, I was very impressed.
"It is a fantastic idea for a young lad to come up with and we are happy to do everything we can to help."
Gates open at 11am and the breeches will be auctioned during the day's racing.
