Yeovil Town v Sheffield United: Glovers must reverse losing fortunes

Reversing fortunes at Yeovil Town has become a 24 hours-a-day role for manager Gary Johnson who is now even dreaming about key decisions.

The Glovers entertain Sheffield United today having lost their last three games against AFC Bournemouth, MK Dons and Leyton Orient.

Whilst the boss is refusing to panic just seven matches into the season, Johnson said he is constantly considering the loan market as well as changes to his team.

Yesterday he signed Bristol City full-back Joe Edwards on a month's loan for the 21-year-old's second spell at Huish Park.

“We consider it all the time,” he said. “We are looking at it because you do not want to lose the Wayne Rooney when he becomes available.

“We are looking all the time and you are obviously looking to improve, especially when you have got your own loans. We have still got one or two we could bring in for numbers and we have got to assess the ones we have already got in.

“We are assessing that all the time and I promise that I am working in the best interests of this football club. We are 24 hours a day because I am even dreaming about decisions when I am sleeping. I am working all hours of the day.”

Defender Rohan Ince has returned to Chelsea for treatment on an ankle injury aggravated during Tuesday’s 4-1 defeat at Orient, but attacker Gavin Williams (calf) is nearing fitness.

Johnson suggested some individual displays at The Matchroom Stadium had done their Yeovil Town futures few favours.

He said: “If these lads can prove themselves against a group of players like Sheffield United then we shouldn’t fear anybody and that is what I have been saying all along.

“We should play these big teams and not fear them. People will say that Leyton Orient aren’t a big team and I would agree with that, that was a bad day for us.

“But it was a good day in a couple of ways because I learnt a few things about people and maybe that will come out in the book at the end of the season. I learnt a little bit and I think that will help us be stronger.”
