Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson believes the next two games will be crucial in determining whether the club can maintain their challenge for the play-offs.

The Glovers host fellow play-off contenders Milton Keynes Dons tonight before welcoming third place Brentford to Huish Park on Saturday.

Yeovil are in good form having won four of their last five games, but haven’t played since beating Sheffield United 17 days ago.

Johnson says the closeness of his team’s next two opponents in the table means getting good results from them is crucial.

He said: “MK Dons and Brentford are two teams that we need to have a blip and we can help that.

“These next two games will dictate whether we’re around the play-offs for the rest of the season, and so these are our cup finals. They are massive games.

“I feel that all our little round pegs are suddenly falling into little round holes, and there’s a real commitment around the lads at the minute to reach the play-offs.”

Both of Yeovil’s next two opponents come to Huish Park off the back of good results in the FA Cup, with MK Dons beating QPR 4-2 and Brentford earning a replay against Chelsea.

But Johnson doesn’t believe that their rivals’ giant-killing exploits will affect their preparations for the games.

“If they can prepare for games like QPR and Chelsea and do well, you know they will be ready for you.

“I know Karl Robinson told his MK Dons players not to celebrate because they have a big game against us coming up, so I know he’ll keep their feet on the ground.
