Striker Paddy Madden will this week become Yeovil Town's second permanent signing of the January transfer window.

The Irishman has proved a revelation since heading south from Carlisle United on loan and netted his eighth and ninth Glovers' goals in the 3-0 defeat of Leyton Orient.

Manager Gary Johnson revealed it was now only a matter of completing paperwork on a deal to make Madden a full-time Yeovil player for an undisclosed fee.

"Paddy's our player," said Johnson. "I have been dropping little hints for a while to everyone but I have not been able to say too much.

"We very early on spotted his potential and we felt early on that we would try and broker a deal for him to come here full time and that is what we have done.

"The paperwork will go through, it has already been agreed and Paddy Madden is a Yeovil Town player and from day one always was.

"He is going to be worth whatever we pay. It was a good deal anyway. Paddy came here, enjoyed it here and the supporters, players and directors made him feel comfortable.

"If not on contract, we had him in the head as our player. It has turned out very well and he is going to be a top player with the work rate he has got.

"He is a great finisher and a super runner. He will have his ups and downs but it is a good goal return from him and James Hayter, who is still doing the business."

Gozie Ugwu could have made his final Yeovil appearance after his loan from Reading expired and Gary Johnson said he was unsure of where the player's future lies.

Middlesbrough under-21 captain and Glovers' loan target Matthew Dolan as returned to the North East with tonsillitis and a decision will be made on unattached former Chelsea youngster Kaby Djalo this week.
