Yeovil Town Ladies to submit bid to join FA Women's Super League
Yeovil Town Ladies have confirmed they will bid to join the FA Women's Super League following a special meeting last night.
The Glovers – currently competing in the Women's Premier League Southern Division – will submit an application after local businesses backed a rallying call for support.

If successful, Yeovil will become one of the top 20 women's clubs in England as the FAWSL looks to extend membership for 2014.
Chairman David Mills said: "We have been amazed by the positive feedback we have received in the last week since we said we were considering a bid.

"From the initial work we have done we know we can submit an exciting and sustainable bid. We are also confident that some of the ideas we have for innovation will be unique to the women's game in this country.
"Our recent game with Leeds United at Huish Park saw a crowd of more than 600, proving that Yeovil has a big fan base ready for FAWSL football and that we as a club can handle games of that size.
"This has to be an advantage as I think this season, outside the FAWSL, only ourselves, Leeds, Sunderland and Newcastle have taken part in games with crowds of more than 600.
"The fact that we share something with great clubs like those tells you all you need to know about Yeovil Town Ladies FC."
Although the club committee agreed to the bid after hearing the result of an interim report, Mills said the work to generate support does not stop now.
"As our joint first team manager Sarah Lawler said last week, we are on the lookout for additional sponsors to make our bid as strong as possible.
"There will be some great opportunities for sponsors if we get into the FAWSL and sponsor who wish to support us do not need to pay anything at this time.
"We just need a letter of intent from them that they will back us from October 2013 if we get into the FAWSL."
Successful applicants to the 2014 FAWSL will be announcing in June, with Nottingham Forest, Portsmouth and QPR joining Yeovil in going public on their application.
