Paddy Madden scored twice as Yeovil Town continued their push towards the play-offs with a 3-0 win over Leyton Orient this afternoon.

Madden's strikes came either side of a James Hayter goal as Orient were well beaten in front of a Huish Park crowd of 3,516.

Madden could have opened the scoring after just 12 minutes, but his header rebounded off the underside of the Orient crossbar.

Instead, he had to wait until the 41st minute when he finished off a pass from Hayter to give the Glovers a 1-0 half-time lead.

Hayter got in on the scoring act in the 59th minute, and had Gavin Williams to thank for cutting a cross in from the line.

The visitors came close to getting back into it 13 minutes later when Lloyd James' effort had Glovers goalkeeper Marek Stech beaten, but Dan Burn was on the line to clear.

Moments after it almost became 2-1, Yeovil were 3-0 to the good thanks to Madden.

The on-loan striker had been a constant menace to Orient's defence, and he netted his second goal when he pounced on Ben Chorley's under-hit back pass and tucked the ball under goalkeeper Jamie Jones.

The win lifts Yeovil to ninth in npower League One, three points off the play-off places.

The Glovers will renew rivalries with Leyton Orient next Tuesday when the two sides meet in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy southern section semi-final in London.
