A Gabor Gyepes goal eleven minutes from time condemned Yeovil Town to a sixth straight League One defeat as Portsmouth won 2-1 at Huish Park tonight.

The Glovers were aiming to end a losing run of five games, but were up against it from the 13th minute when Izale McLeod fired Pompey into the lead.

Gary Johnson replaced Richard Hinds and James Hayter with Lewis Young and Gozie Ugwu at half-time, although Young lasted less than ten minutes before being stretchered off.

Nathan Ralph was his replacement - Yeovil's third and final substitution - and he soon played a vital role in getting the home side back on level terms.

Ralph was fouled in the box by Mustapha Dumbuya after receiving a ball from Keanu Marsh-Brown in the 69th minute, and Reuben Reid buried the resultant penalty to make it 1-1.

The scores were level for just ten minutes, though, when Gyepes struck to pile more misery on the Glovers.

Yeovil Town: Stech, Webster, Hinds (Young 46) (Ralph 52), Burn, McAllister, Marsh-Brown, Smith, Blizzard, Edwards, Hayter (Ugwu 46), Reid. Substitutes not used: Stewart, Ayling, Williams, Foley.
