Boxer wins bout to earn accolade
YEOVIL Amateur Boxing Club's Dean Dodge has been crowned the Western Counties lightweight champion after winning by unanimous decision in the regional final.
The 19-year-old representing Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire overcame Devon, Cornwall and Dorset pugilist Steve Buchanan of the Isle of Wight in the National Novice Championship to earn the accolade.
Dodge will now contest the quarter-finals of the competition for boxers with less than 20 bouts to their name in a fortnight.
