Yellow lines could be painted to ease car parking problems
PARKING is back on the agenda as a major road in Wells could be getting yellow lines.
The Kennion Road end of Wookey Hole Road has long been the subject of complaints cars parked there blocking drivers' lines of sight and making it difficult to cross the road.
While the plans are not yet fully developed it is believed that they would restrict parking between the relief road and Kennion Road from Monday to Friday during working hours.
The number of cars parked on this stretch of the road has been a talking point since the work started on the new multi-storey car park at the nearby Waitrose.

It was hoped that the situation would improve once the supermarket and car park were opened.
But a month on from the opening ceremony the situation does not seem to have eased.
The plans for the yellow lines were put forward by Somerset County Councillor Harvey Siggs.
He said: "It's not something we ever like doing but in this incident something needs to be done as with children crossing the road it can be quite dangerous."
Before the proposal can go ahead Somerset need to consult with various parties.
A county council spokesman said: "We will be consulting the emergency services, road hauliers and others for their comments soon, and then advertising the proposed restrictions.
"The public will then have 21 days to make any objection."
