Wrighlington School pupil to lecture on school's experiences at World Orchid Congress
Writhlington School sixth former Zoe Parfitt is preparing to travel to South Africa to lecture about her school experiences at the World Orchid Congress in Johannesburg.
Zoe, who has been involved in the school's Orchid Project for six years and regularly gives talks to local groups, is looking forward to speaking to a world audience.
She said: "My talk is titled The Writhlington School Orchid Project – a Pupil's Perspective and I will talk about what I have learnt and how the Writhlington model could be applied in other schools across the world."
Zoe will also focus on some of her personal highlights, including winning a gold medal at the Chelsea Flower show.
Those who will not be at the World Orchid Congress can hear Zoe's talk at the Autumn Orchid Festival, at Writhlington School, on Saturday, October 12. It runs from 10am to 4pm and Zoe will be speaking at noon and again at 2pm.
