World Book Night comes to Writhlington
April 23 sees a World Book Night event taking place in Writhlington. Roger Wiltshire has been selected from thousands of applicants to run a World Book Night Event and will have 20 copies of Jeanette Winterson's book 'Why be happy when you could be normal?' to give away.
Roger's event will take place in Writhlington Village Hall during the evening of the April 23. Roger, who writes and performs tall stories under the name Drift Snowbarger, is running a community event for the whole village and would like to hear from any Writhlington based bands, writers, poets, especially those aged under 25, who would like to perform in the evening.
Roger said: "I want to run an event for the whole village and it would be great if local young bands, poets or writers come along to show case their work. We could also have a book swop event and I'd like to hear from any local community groups or charities who may like to run a tea, coffee and cake stall."
